Roselle Hawaiian Hibiscus Tea - 1oz
Roselle is a type of hibiscus flower that is native to North Africa & Southeast Asia. This plant grows vibrantly in the subtropical climate of the Hawaiian Islands. The tea is made from the part of the plant that protects the flower called the calyx, which has been dried into an easy to brew tea for you to make at home. The dried calyces make an amazing vibrant tea that can be enjoyed cold or hot. There are many studies done on the the healthy benefits of drinking hibiscus tea, including lowering blood pressure, lowing LDL cholesterols, and weight loss. Roselle is a caffeine free, herbal tea.
Boil the tea: Bring the hibiscus flowers and water to a boil in a large pot. Once the water starts boiling, switch off the flame and cover the vessel. At this point, you can also add other herbs or add ins such as basil, lemon grass, lemon zest etc. Let the tea steep for 15-20 minutes.
*Optional: Mix in the honey and lime juice till completely combined. Strain the tea.
