🥭 White Turmeric (Mango Ginger) – Curcuma amada
Mango ginger (Curcuma amada) is a member of the turmeric family with a pale interior and a distinctive aroma reminiscent of green mango. Unlike yellow turmeric (Curcuma longa), it contains little to no curcumin, but is rich in essential oils and phenolic compounds that have demonstrated antioxidant and antimicrobial activity in laboratory studies.
Traditionally used in Ayurvedic preparations for digestive support, mango ginger is valued for its fresh flavor, culinary versatility, and naturally occurring plant compounds.
